Go to http://www.101languages.net/slovenian/! They have an excellent beginner's introduction to many different languages.

I started to learn Slovene a few weeks ago and came across the following website- an online Slovene course for beginners! It's in German and has a very good dictionary, that even gives declensions and conjugations!

http://www.slowenisch-lernen.uni-hamburg.de/

Hope this is helpful to other Slovene learners!

I hope it's an appropriate thread.
I would like to recommend you - if you're interested in Slovene, of course - on Prvi Program at midnight there are very interesting discussions about different countries, languages etc.

At some point I found some materials for beginners in Slovenian on the website of the
University of Göteborg. They are mostly compilations of texts from old books about
Slovenian, but they feature audio as well, so they're quite worthwile, even if the
commentaries and wordlists use only Swedish, but used in conjunction with other
resources, they may just add up to a decent pool of usable materials.

Nybörjarkurs, del 1

Nybörjarkurs, del 2

Also, the same people behind teaching the courses also had a dedicated blog with tips,
exercises etc.

Om Slovenien

It also has links to a couple of DLI pdf's and a Slovenian anthology (more like
intermediate materials)

Also, I'd recommend rtvslo.si as a multimedia portal, and I'd also like to recommend
their podcasts to anyone in need of some more material. I've especially enjoyed
listening to the podcast "Evropa Osebno", which features interviews with people living
in Slovenia, but also other places. I like the format, and also that each podcast is
between 10-20 minutes in length, which is perfect for the average language enthusiast's
busy schedule. It's easily available through iTunes.

For the more advanced learner, pining for the novels of Ivan Cankar and other Slovenian
authors, here's a link:

That's it for today. Lep Pozdrav!
