I'm currently working my way through Assimil's German with Ease and I would like to move onto the advanced level when I'm done. I am considering getting Perfectionnement allemand, but I have some concerns about the quality of the translations. There has been a thread on the shortcomings of the often nonsensical English translations in Using Spanish, and I worry about similar problems marring Perfectionnement allemand. If anyone who has used Perfectionnement allemand would be kind enough to share their impressions, I would be most grateful.

Are you aware that it only comes in French? If you don't speak French then I'd suggest that you just start using native materials instead.

I am indeed aware that it only comes in French. I suppose I wasn't clear about that.

I think, that this method is so good, that it would be beneficial even if you only listened to the audio and then just checked the transcript and translated it yourself (I did it like this). If you speak Franch, then it is most recommendable.

I think many of us are interested in seeing an "Assimil Using German" course. Assimil has said they will publish one if they get enough requests for it. See the thread below for more details if you're interested in getting invlolved in encouraging assimil to release the course (they actually part completed it some time ago):

I have just the audio tapes. Are there anywhere just transcripts available? Could anybody send me just the texts that are recorded? I'd like to follow the above suggestion.
