I'm doing the Pimsleur Basic Czech course to get a basic feel for the language, but I can't help but think that the T
in the verb "pití," to drink (as in "Chtěl byste něco k pití?" - "Would you like something to drink?"), is pronounced
like a [k] in the recordings. I'm not sure whether the recording is mispronouncing it, whether it's because of its
quality, or if I'm spelling it incorrectly.

The "t" isn't pronounced like 'k'. It is softened by the following "í" as "tj" where the "j" is spoken like the letter "y" in the word "you". So, to understand how to pronounce the "t" in "pití" think of the start of the word "tuesday" as it is pronounced "ty-oosday".
The whole word "pití" then is pronounced "pit-yee"
