Hello, I'm studying Italian. Something happens that I don't improve as fast as I did with German when I was studying it (with the Deutsche Welle lessons) or greek. I think I haven't found a good method to stick to it.
I studied a semester at the University and I got the basics. So when I find Italian lessons around the web they are too basic to me...
I still have the book we used at the University (Panton Method) but I never found the tapes.
I got the Pimsleur which is good but also it's a perfect substitute for a sleeping pill.

I'd like to find a method as the deutsche welle... a book with dialogs, exercises and audio. Any suggestions?

I would recommend Assimil's Italian With Ease as the best course. The audio is entirely in the target language, the textbook is broken into daily lessons and teaches the essential Italian from the start.

The course is interesting and written with humour. It has practical notes on using the language all the way through.

You will be reasonably fluent in a few months. You can buy it cheaply from amazon.com.

If I get Italian With Ease and study it sort of heavily (don't have a job) every day of the week how long would it take to finish and how good would I be in Italian when finished?

Also, is Italian With Ease the only Italian Assimil that's done in English?

Thank you, I finally found it and yes, it's quite good. I'll see hoy useful it may be considering that I already know the basics in Italian...
