Hello
I know that there is a site where one can find pronunciation of ALL places over the world, names and surnames of people over the world etc. The site has to be use for reference(pronunciation guide) for English speaking mass media(VOA, BBC etc).
I was looking for it and have found some similar sites but they are rather ordinary - there is not enogh information.
If you know where is that site leave link here please!

Perhaps not what I'm Russian was thinking of, but:
for sure there is a site where people go and post words they themselves recorded in their native language. For Finnish there were some hundred words, mainly place names, if I recall correctly. The words are also somehow "rated".
Unfortunately I don't have the link.

Yes. I know it for sure because of I visited the site 3-4 months ago. I did not add it to browsers' bookmarks then and regret for it now.
There are the huge lists of names and places with audio. The lists are regularly update. For example in some country appears new leader and then he right away appears in the list with audio. It is very useful site.
When I will have found it I leave link here.

Here's the VOA pronunciation list:
http://names.voa.gov/index.cfm
It's mostly personal names, and lacks a lot of geographic names, but it does have audio.

Thank you for the link.
Perhaps it is that site. I saw it for a short time a long time ago and because of that my description is partly wrong. Excuse me for misleading!
