I'm currently in the market for older Linguaphone courses. To my dismay, there seems to be several editions of each course floating around out there. For instance, I've seen the French course in a 3 book/4 cassette version as well as a 4 book/8 cassette version. I've seen a Portuguese course with 2 books/6 cassettes. How do you make sense of all this?
Thanks.

The main difference between the 3 book/4 cassette and 4 book/8 cassette is that the ones with the 8 cassettes have more oral practice exercises built into them along with a printed version of those exercises (hence the extra book) If you have a choice, go for the 8 cassette version.
