Hello everyone,
I have embarked on learning Spanish, and after reading reviews of the MT method, I decided to start with his course. I have almost completed the foundation CD's and while I like the style, the students are getting on my last nerve.
The annoyance has led me to think about changing courses, which is where my question comes up. Should I stick with MT through the Advanced and Language Builder CDs and then change courses, or finish the foundation CD's and then change to another program, such as LSLC?
I mention LSLC because I have read many reviews stating that it is basically the Pimsleur method on steroids - packing a lot of information into the program.
My daily practice sessions are in the car driving too and from work. Although fluency would be nice, right now I would like to be able to hold good conversations in Spanish as well as understand conversations/tv shows/movies. I know it will take a lot of effort but I am prepared. I have a background of 3 years of High School Spanish which has left me with a familiarity for the language but not really any remembered information/vocab.
Thank you for your advice.
Jason

Do both programs together. I did MT while finishing the Pimsleur series. 1/2 hour per day on each. They are a great complement for eachother. MT changes to new and better students for the advanced course and no students for the builder. If you like the MT style, finish the program.

I'd also look at Assimil. I don't like LSLC myself but it may work for you.
