Has anyone used the "New French with ease" published in 2008? Are the 100 lessons similar to the previous version?

I'm not sure, but I believe it's the same thing as the 1998 version. It has almost the same number of pages, which could have changed slightly if the book was reset. The number of lessons is the same (113), amount of audio sounds pretty much the same, and the author is the same.
Like I said, I can't be sure, but I believe they've just republished the '98 version.
Edit: Incidentally, I own the 1998 version, and I certainly recommend it; it's excellent.

The 1998 edition can be found online at a nice discount now.

Thank you, josht, for the info. I already have the 1998 version, but was interested to see if there were any differences between 2008 and 1998 versions.
On a side note, a friend has donated to me two "French without toil" copyrighted 1940 versions, republished in 1967 and 1975. Both are identical except the cover--one is red, the other is the Eiffel Tower. There are 140 lessons in 504 pages with the usual and humorous drawings. I have the LP records but don't know when I am going to find the time to convert them to mp3's.

I saw this in the book shop. They had the other addition too. I really liked the old cases. The new case is made from cardboard from memory? Or maybe not? In any case they only have to produce 1 CD now thanks to MP3s

Yeah, the newer ones are all boxed in cardboard. It seems to be the same for all the languages with new editions, if I recall correctly.
Thom.

I just got my French Assimil in the mail from Amazon and there are 113 lessons and the
CDs themselves actually say copyright 1998 with the book dated 2008 so if the audio
didn't change — its probably better to get the 2008 cause the book might be updated to
fix any typos or something (my guess)
