Hi folks!
I am looking for some advice about French materials.
I think I am going to get Assimil French for sure, but I feel like I need more.
I thought of getting some stuff from the Practice makes perfect series, definitelay:
Complete French Grammar
French Verb Tenses

I also thought about:
French Pronouns and Prepositions
French Vocabulary
Advanced French Grammar

What do you think of these books? A higher degree of detail will be greatly appreciated :)

I was also looking for something like this for French, but found only this which is very expensive!
Does anybody know anything comparable for cheaper?

What other good materials do you recomend?

Regards,
Ilhan

PS: I might add I have Pimsleur, FSI (French Phonology and the Programmatic) and MT.

Well, don't forget "French in Action" (Capretz method books and videos).

I myself have done Pimsleur, FSI, and MT (The MT Advanced course is nice), and FiA. And I already feel good to go to start absorbing native materials, such as newspapers and television, using wiktionnaire for back up as needed.

I also have some other books like "Frances sin Esfuerzo," "Frances Perfeccionamiento," and "Business French" (all Assimil) which I have yet to get to.

I kind of wish I had started learning French from my native Spanish, as I surely would have picked up the verb tenses faster, but by now it's not a huge deal.

Check out books by Marc Ceppi. They are fun practice for learning French.

They are rather old but good fun. They are short stories and have a vocabulary in the back. They are still available and are a great start to reading French. By all means use them with Assimil.
