HI there all,
I talked with Assimil recently and they said that they would consider releasing a Using German course if they had enough requests for it. I have several students who would benefit greatly from such a course and have got each of them to email Assimil requesting that the course be published. I am posting here to say that, if you too are interested in such a course, please do contact Assimil and let them know. They already have part of it done but didn't finish it due to uncertainty about demand. Let's give them that certainty, shall we? Once you've contacted them - at http://62.193.198.10/indexuk.jsp?paramIdPartenaire=-2 - post here to let the rest of us know, so we can guage just how many people are participating in the petition. I have emailed them. I am finding the German with ease course far superior to the other German learning packs that I have tried. Mind you the Assimil method suits me well.

Posted some mention of the petition on other places in the forum. Hope this doesn't piss anyone off too much. I'm glad to see so many people have already taken this up though. At the end of June, I will talk to Assimil again to see if they feel it is in fact worth them releasing the course, so do keep the emails coming, if you are interesed in it. Assimil did seem quite open to the idea when I spoke with them about it and have clearly come close to publishing it before. I'm hoping this may just push them over the edge.

Pauly, I don't see you having much of an obstacle if the company was about to release a product before. My suggestion is similar to what I am doing with Icelandic. In this case contact people of the German community. On your location in United Kingdom and English speaking areas in the world to request the program. It is the English base you are petitioning for. Yes, it's the English base for the advanced, Using German course. Hopefully, they will publish it but it is not actually entirely finished yet. As I say, they have stopped and started twice before because of uncertainty about demand and have said that they will complete and publish it if enough people want it. So, again, if you think it's a good idea, email them!
