I think it depends on if you get the item directly from Amazon or one of their selling partners.

I agree. I've bought Assimil off Amazon a few times and I never understood the pricing. You don't seem to have such a large difference in price with any other brand of language material.

You could get them cheaper by doing a search on DealOz . com.
And a lot of people have said that the advanced course "Using Spanish" is really bad, at least the English-based version is. If you have a good command of Spanish, I'd recommend buying "Perfectionnement Espagnol" instead.
