I know the sentence "Te lo dije antes" and I thought that TE was informal. But a translation program didn't turn the TE into LE when I choose the option formal.
Isn't this correct then?

Te lo dije antes (informal)
Le lo dije antes (formal)

Te is informal and le formal, correct??

Yes, but in your example, you should use "se" for the polite, i.e.

Te lo dije antes = I told you earlier (informal)
Se lo dije antes = I told you earlier (polite)
