llame not plural? (Spanish)

I heard this sentence in Pimsleur:

I never look at how the streets are called =
Nunca miro cómo se llama las calles

Why doesn't llama become llamaS?
There are more streets so more names.
Or is this simply always the way it is in Spanish?

Ah.. or is this because it literaly says: how they call those streets? So call/llama stays single?

Llamar is a verb, you don't make it plural like that. However because there are multiple steets, I would say "se llaman" = they call themselves.

Have I misheard it in Pimsleur then, that the N is very soft. So it is llaman?

I think so, as llaman sounds better to me, after all the "streets" are plural, so I would use 3rd person plural.

Tuffy, it's definitely "llaman". Perhaps it's as you mentioned, i.e. you didn't hear the final "n".
