hello, everyone

i need some help in translation and checking of korean names
i`m writing the book with some korean characters
i invent names but i`m not not sure that it`s quite correct for those who knows Korean language well

so, i ask if anyone could help me to check names and write what they means (translate names in english - as far as i know every name have its meaning, so that would be bad, if occurs that they are means some sick things)

sorry 4 my bad eniglish (i`m from RUSSIA)

FEMALE
1. Lee Su-Yeong
2. Hwan Gyeon-Yeon

MALE
3. Kim Ho-Hee (this name bothers me most, especially this HEE)
4. Kim In-Jun
5. Chang Sun-Tchkhan (Tchkhan also looks ugly)
6. Chang Dae-Dong
7. Je Lee-Heun
8. Tsoy Gye-Jun

and what about the meaning of names?
i know, for example, that "HO" means "tiger"

Does these fictional names sounds good?
i`m afraid of the situation that Koreans will be laughing `cos these names (maybe) sounds very funny (and couldn`t exist in real life or did not fit to men/women and so on)

Actually the names can't be translated, becuase you didn't write the name in Chinese characters. The meaning depends on that. For example, for the female name number 1(Lee Su-yeong) there are many posibilities according which Chinese character you select and combinate.
ì°â³çÈ- beautiful flower
ì°âªç¶- swimming in a river
ì°áóçÀ- improving oneself for blilliance
....

It can be lots of meaning.and I think its not so easy to find perfect names with perfect meanings for the Characters of your book. But at least,i can find which one
is normal and which one sounds strange.

No.2 Hwan Gyeon-Yeon : Hwan is very seldom Family name,it's just about 2% of all the Korean family names.
And I haven't met such a people yet, so "Huang" is maybe
better,because it's more common.
And Gyeon->Gyeong,maybe?

No.3 Kim Ho-Hee : "~Hee"is normally just for women.
For man, there are some typical names like- "~Cheol","~Su"
"~Ho","~Sik". So you can correct the name to "Ho-sik",
"Ho-Cheol" or something.

No.5 Chang Sun-Tchkhan : I can't understand what Tchkhan is. Is this Korean or Russian? It can be "Zhang Sun-Chan" maybe.

No7. Je Lee-Heun : Sounds strange,it can be perhaps "Lee
Je-Heun".:-)

No.8 Tsoy Gye-Jun : Choi Kyeung-Jun souds better.

I hope it can be useful for you.
And good Luck for your writing book!
