I've been transcribing a sketch of Raymond Devos 'Gloire post- mortem' in order to put it up on the sonsenfrancais/humour site at the end of the week. Normally if I can't pick something up I leave it and pass on. But this sketch contains a play on words that bugs me and I'd be grateful to anyone who can give me the solution. I've put a little .mp3 extract and the transcript so far in www.sonsenfrancais.org/tmp
It's the bit where he says Alors des vous serez sur la liste de ses chers disparus, on annoncera un formidable avis de recherche. [J'y], qui fera la presentation, ce [cher Patrick]. J'ai dit, moi j'aurais aime que ce soit ce cher [les onze y traude ]. Ils m'ont dit, non, on [lui en] garde pour la dixieme anniversaire de votre mort. From the laughter it's obvious there's a play on words with (what sounds like) 'ce cher Patrick', and he caps it with the puzzling content of the next parenthesis If you can help me with this, thanks in advance and congratulations ! I added the missing accents:
