Given that, I might consider changing some of my language ratings (especially English, Danish, and Faroese) to Native even though I did not grow up with them. I speak these languages error-free and can express myself just as well as I can in German. The only thing that was holding me back is a very slight accent.

How very ironic: "I speak these languages error-free" strikes me as an error.

Actually,I have to say that I think I have been partly influenced by everyone deriding me for choosing German over Spanish.I already speak french, which is the other offical language of canada,so I am covered there. My father is quebecois(and I will admit that I try to speak without the accent and try to emulate the clearer european accent-so sue me!)It is amazing the number of hostile reactions I get when I tell people that I have been learning German. They say "why not learn Spanish"?Ijust wish I had more opportunities to speak it.Although here in Nova scotia we do get alot of German tourists and there are alot of German people here, I don't seem to get enough chances.

Well we if hold ourselves to the standard of "Der Dativ ist dem Genetiv sein Tod" I guess barely anyone would speak any languages "flawlessly" or anything close to it.
