How do you say "she was beautiful"?
Do you use fue? "Ella fue bonita"?

Use "era" better, i.e. "ella era guapa".
You can use "fue" but it's an older past tense than "era" (if that makes sense!).
NOTE: Beautiful things are "bonito/a" but beautiful people are "guapo/a".

Aha, so fue would be for a long long time ago..
So it's better to use era then.
I didn't know there was a female form for guapo.
So you can say guapa to a woman.
There is also bella, what is the difference?
(How do you pronunce bella? Beja?)

The difference is similar to "lovely", "beautiful", "gorgeous", etc., i.e. different words for the same thing.
P.S. It is pronounced the same way any "ll" sound is (more or less equivalent to the English "j").

Bella, yes as far as I know means beautiful also. Por ejemplo: La vida es bella (Life is beautiful) And for prononciation I heard it like Beya.
