Use of Spanish verb ’buscar’ | ||

Living with a family in Spain I often hear
Voy a buscar a Guiomar....or something very similar to that. Every book and dictionary I have tells me that Buscar means 'to search for', and I havenīt found any other definitions. In this case it seams to mean 'to pick up' or 'to get'. Can someone explain this just to make it a bit clearer? It has other meanings as well...
I've lifted these directly from the Word Reference website here to look up (as in looking up a word in a dictionary) to fetch to collect This, by the way, is an excellent on-line Spanish dictionary (although not as good as it used to be). In addition, it's also worth checking definitions in a mono-lingual dictionary. The Word Reference site links its own Spanish definitions to the RAE online dictionary if you don't have one of your own. Andy. 1 person has voted this message useful |
