German: da drüben vs dort drüben

What is the difference between saying "da drüben" and saying "dort drüben"? In FSI German they use "da", but I don't see why "dort" would be wrong. Is it wrong?

Please enlighten me!

I'm not sure, but I think these expressions are more or less equivalent.

As far as I know either could be used but their might be special uses for each.

They're basically the same. If anything, "da drüben" is a little bit more colloquial.
