I enjoy the sound of Greek above all other languages. Although I never plan to study them, I really enjoy the sound of Georgian and Tamil, and I would also rank them high on the list of most attractive scripts, along with Greek.

What do you mean by unclear? English is far more phonetic than Japanese or Chinese. I thought this thread was suppose to be about languages you like...

The pronunciation of English really is quite unclear: there are a fair number of sounds, some fairly close together, which vary hugely with regional accent. A New Zealander I know pronounces "beer" and "bear" identically, and reports not being understood by some Americans. Japanese pronunciation, on the other hand, is fairly clear and simple in theory: there are only open syllables plus a possible terminal 'n', no consonant clusters, etc. Japanese and Chinese aren't phonetic, but that's a consequence of the writing systems used, not the sounds of the language.

I find the sound of Hungarian pleasant. I don't understand any of it.

Marc Frisch,

It was a joke. I thought it was clear with the mention of tequila and girls.

Vilas,

Hindi and Punjabi for begging.

Really? I have yet to see an Indian/brown begger in North America in my 26+ years of being here.
