I personally like the sounds of the following languages:

Japanese (when spoken by girls)
Mandarin
Korean
Welsh

contrary to popular opinion, I can't stand the sound of French...

Hmm...is it me or is there a distinct split in favour of Germanic/Cantonese or
Romance/Mandarin? Seldom Germanic/Mandarin or Romance/Cantonese?

Personally I lean towards the Germanic/Cantonese but, as others have said,
this could be because my early language exposure was to English, German
and Dutch (my English family lived in Germany near the Dutch border until I
was three) and my initial exposure to Chinese was through Cantonese (I love
Hong Kong movies!).

I like Korean for some reason, similar to Japanese but kind of more interesting sounds, although I'm liking Japanese more and more the more I study it so its catching up Korean. I know this is a topic about spoken language, but I also think the Korean writing system is one of the most attractive, always looks very neat and uniform and different to anything else.

Russian is also very nice, love the sound and I think it would be an interesting one to study, if I survive Japanese maybe I'll learn Russian next. Chinese languages I'm indifferent to, probably because I've never studied them.

As for dislike, I really don't like romance languages, just don't. Perhaps because I was made to study French at school and that put me off, or something else, anyway, I can't put my finger on it. A lot of people say Italian is a beautiful language, well, it dosn't do anything for me at all, neither does French. No offense to people who speak romance languages, still...

...I also really hate English, despite being English myself! Really ugly language in my opinion, maybe due to over-exposure to the language its lost its charm for me, but I really don't see anything particularly good about it anyway.

All of this, of course, is going mostly on sound. I'm not fluent yet in anything other than English although I have breifly studied a number of languages.

My vote would go to either French or Italian. I have a theory that people's answers might be influenced by their experiences with those languages and their speakers. Stereotypes of the people who speak them may also matter.
