FSI after Pimsleur...or what? | ||

I am wondering if any of you would consider purchasing FSI after going through all levels of Pimsleur lessons to continue your language study. Do you think it would be redundant, or would I learn a lot more by doing this? I am definitely an "audio-learner" primarily, so I am looking ahead to my best options after falling into the abyss of study methods that finishing Pimsleur Level Three will take me into.
I have read also that Rosetta Stone provides MUCH more vocabulary than Pimsleur. So maybe that is a better option than FSI when I finish Pimsleur? Just so you know, I am studying Russian. I am considering spending a month at a Russian language school with a private tutor once a finish Pimsleur, so that I am guess would be the best option. I am hoping if I persue that option that I will be able to begin watching Russian news and movies to improve my knowledge. That would be fun and hopefully help me communicate in "everyday speech". I suggest that you search the forum for information on the different courses/programs you mentioned and decide which best suits your own paticular style of learning.
Everyone learns in different ways. It all depends on how best you learn, although you do seem to have this clear in your mind. In my opinion, moving to Russia would probably be a good idea, but I would definitely supplement it with some other method. Hope this helps. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||
