I am familiar with most of the German tenses but I cannot figure out how to say things like;
I would have gone He should have said You could not have eaten etc.. It seems like it should be "Ich würde gegangen haben" but I don't think this is right. If anyone could explain this to me I would be very grateful =] 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

I'd translate it like this
Ich wäre gegangen...wenn nicht xxx passiert wäre Er hätte xxx sagen sollen Du hättest nicht essen können, weil... This is a Konjunktiv irrealis / Konjunktiv II right? 1 person has voted this message useful | |||

Seems like the MT courses really hammer this stuff through if that helps you. That's the best thing I took away from the German ones. =)
