I check everything I post with bilingual native Beijing speakers, like the one sitting next to me. Taking advice on Mandarin Chinese from someone from Hong Kong is like taking advice on English from someone from Jamaica. Just because you casually and clumsily mix up relatively close synonyms in conversation does not necessarily mean they, in fact, have no semantic difference.
