It would be faster and possibly more elegant in perl. If you examine it at all, you'll realize that it was developed quickly and the regular expression groupings aren't organized. It's obviously incomplete. I considered not posting it because it is neither polished nor complete. Even on my five year old computer it processes Don Quijote in about 5 seconds, which is the only text it's been used on. I've removed the eye sore so no one else gets hurt. I found an ebook text of Don Quijote/Don Quixote that allows you to highlight each sentence fragment side by side or one over the other.
