Lithuanian is more complex than Russian. Russians living in the Baltic states complain that it is impossible to learn Latvian or Lithuanian, which they now need to. This is of course partly political, but there is some truth in it.
Lithuanian has more complex declensions and much more complicated verb conjugations than Russian. It has variable stress in nouns, less predictable than Russian, and is also tonal.
Good luck to you if you are attempting it. It is an attractive language to listen to, partly bacause of the tones, and is of great interest because of its archaic nature.

I find several things about Lithuania to be interesting, like how many archaic features are present in its language, and that it was the last European country to give up paganism.

If I wasn't so tangled up in so many other languages, I'd definitely love to learn Lithuanian. Maybe someday soon I'll look into at least the basics to get a basic idea of it. At least it uses a Latin instead of a Cyrillic alphabet.

Indeed, cyrilic alphabet is dreadful! (Though I liked trying to write in it a lot, reading is soo difficult.) And Lithuanian alphabet consists of 32 letters, majority of which are known for anybody writing in Latin alphabet,others....well, they are easy to write, pronounce and recognize, however, it's not that easy to learn all the rules when they should be used as more often than not, they sound just like others. (For example, 'ū' may sound just like 'u' and it's exactly like 'ų'!)

Oh, I should stop if I don't want to frighten everybody out of learning Lithuanian:)

I lived in Lithuania for a while and have been desperately striving to study that amazing language. I found a quite useful book there, "Nė dienos be lietuvių kalbos" by Virginija Stumbrienė and Aurelija Kaškelevičienė, published by Gimtasis Žodis. It is a basic vocabulary-builder, very good to start picking the most useful words and sentences.
Glad to see finally there are some people interested in Lithuanian here! And Lithuanians too :-)
