I remember a few years ago before I was into languages at all, i was talking to my mates grandpa, he was German and spoke English fluently, having lived here for so long, with a reasonably good accent. Anyway, I remember my mate's mum saying he spoke lots of languages, apparently, English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, possibly hungarian and such, They were all european i think. Anyway! The cool thing is, he started learning Chinese because there are lots of chinese people here, and my mate was so amazed that after a few months he was talking to chinese people in chinese and was learning to write it and everything. A year or so later, my mate was like "Yeh he's pretty fluent now" But get this,

He was 80! When he started learning, that's pretty cool!

He skipped around countries during the war and such to get out of Germany. He ran away and was being chased and everything! pretty amazing story really.

Funny how it just occured to me I met someone with a great language talent and i didnt even realize how cool it was lol

That's pretty cool. Just goes to show, anyone who wants to learn a language can, regardless of age.

OMG, this is just cool! Another evidence of life-long learning and that languages are not age-limited. Congrats!! :)

I'll have to bring up that story every time somebody tells me they are to old to learn anything!
