A Croatian captain of the 17th century, active in the Thirty Years' War and English Civil War. He is said to have spoken many languages - I think John Aubrey, a famous antiquary, said he spoke 14, though it might have been 12. He was allegedly bullet-proof. He was also a rapist, behaviour he encouraged in men under his command, and was finally hanged for it in England.
