Administrator,

He is only 15 so he won't be able to graduate to pubs - though he surely will graduate after 3 years.

Just relax tlevine and it will happen. Try to be yourself but above all be interesting and be intersted (in other people).

I'm in Nice, France, so there's a really big beach. Is there a way to meet people and practice speaking at the beach?

First thing is to get a good attitude about people. Nice, engaging, forgiving of mistakes they can make and interested in what they do.

Have you tried joining a club or 'association' of like-minded people? Nice is big enough for you to find people with similar interests. If you are nice to them, you can probably make some friends.

Yes, I found a chess club. But what can I do after the club closes at 7:30?

He's in the US, so he will have to wait 6 more years before he can go to a pub.

Can you find any chess players who would want to have a soda with you and talk about chess and languages?

You could also try just walking around town, visiting shops, and talking to the shop keepers, or your fellow shoppers.
