Amazon.ca used to sell assimil books for 15$ and the methods for 84$. Prices went up to 25 and 100 which as far as I know is the price you pay in store. Does anyone know some other website or bookstore I could get assimil from and that wouldn't be too expensive? I just hope they don't end up selling this method at prices like Pimsleur's.

http://wpc3123.amenworld.com/indexfr.jsp?paramIdPartenaire=- 1 has complete methods (including CDs) for 69,90 € - probably around the 84$ you mention. I've got mine from the Swedish bookstore AdLibris, for about half that price.

The used bookstores in Montreal always have Assimil books, and some even have the complete courses with CDs. They're usually priced $15 for the new (soft cover) ones and $7 for the older (hard cover) copies.

I ordered both volumes of Assimil's Chinese course which, with CDs included, were about $40 each. The second volume is apparently out of stock, so I'm hoping they restock it.

I don't know whats up with Amazon and Assimil.
This version (ISBN-13: 978-2700520132) is $32
While this one (ISBN-13: 978-0828840934) is $195
They both claim to have Book and CDs.
The same for Assimil Italian with Ease.
Any one know the difference?
And has anyone ordered from Assimil.com?

I'm pretty sure I ordered the first one you listed from Amazon and got the latest edition book and cds. The second one seems to be an older edition;I guess they've never noticed how much lower the prices of the newer editions are and to match it accordingly.

Wow, thats great. Direct from Assimil it was something like 68 euro + 17 shipping to
USA which came out to like $116.
But now I am wondering if I should get "Italian with Ease" for Spanish speakers. It
could be a good way to practice my Spanish or could be confusing. I learned French
taking classes in Spanish.
Thanks for the reply.
edit: at $32 vs $116 I think I'll watch some movies in Spanish with my parents :D
