Personally, I´ve grown immune to people calling Dutch ugly so I'm not offended by it, but aren´t these profiles supposed to give prospective language learners an honest and objective overview of a language? If they are, I don't think it should state that Dutch is not beautiful as if it is a fact. It may be regarded as such by a majority of people but it is still just an opinion, albeit a popular one.
And about the regional variants of Dutch: Every region and many cities, towns and villages as well have their own dialect/accent. The majority are still easily understood by all Dutch speakers but the differences are certainly there so it's often easy to pinpoint quite exactly where a speaker is from, or from what province at least.

Please have a look at my thread "Better Dutch Profile" because this first Dutch Profile was written by a person who apparently is not very familiar with the Dutch language and culture. If such a profile gets published on the forum website it should be a qualified profile. I took my time to write this "Better Dutch Profile" myself but there are still some categories left out, so if you could add some infos, this will be very much appreciated.

Excellent, because this will give us the chance to make my profile complete or - if necessary - to change something.
