Using Bernard Comrie’s theory of tense | ||

As far as I can tell, the lessons in polyglottery leaned towards the descriptive method that emphasizes the collection of various grammar and culture details for a particular language, maybe even a few languages, until the language(s) are "done." What benefit would there be to use a systematic method, starting withe Bernard Comrie's theory of tense, hopefully in the end knowing logically the tenses of 20 or so languages? Are there papers out there that describe a particular language(s) using Comrie's formula for tense? If not, then anyone else such as Hans Reichenbach?
