It's not idle debate, I'm voicing my disagreement with the idea that studying every day a short amount of time is better than studying once per week a more substantial amount of time.
Sgt.Pepper made a good point about memorising word lists versus doing "immersion exercises". However, it is important to note that I'm not in favour of big blocks of memorisation exercises. I've been thinking about this for some time, because I noticed that when I learned something new, I can use it better for further study not on the next day but after two nights of sleep. That might be consistent with me having a shrunk hippocampus thanks to years of depression. Like Sennin, I prefer blocks of high-intensity learning even though it makes me feel burned out easily. Precisely because others don't find it to be true it makes sense to express my opinion. If my opinion were identical to the dominant opinion (what you call "fact"), then it would be completely pointless to post it because it would not affect the staus quo. Expressing opinions is not "idle debate". Repeating the already established facts is idle debate. I am contributing a new idea, which I find to be true. I never said either were fact. They are both opinions based on individual experiences.
