Hello everyone,
I would like to learn spoken levantine arabic. I have native speakers with whom I can
practice and am looking for some resources to learn with in between practice sessions.
Through reading through previous posts, the pimsleur and michel thomas programs seem
to be the most highly recommended for beginners.
Does anyone have any recommendations/ thoughts on the above programs, any other
programs, or any comments in general?
I am looking forward to learning, thank you.

Eastern Arabic by Frank Rice.
Good book, I bought it for a friend. There are a few review on Amazon, Google Books has
an extended preview, and Barnes and Nobles has the Cheapest new copies.

I say definitely go with Pimsleur. The resources for this dialect are few, and I think the method used in the Pimsleur program is very effective. I'm currently waiting for my library to get volume III.
Also, this has been very useful for me: http://phone.dliflc.edu/
It is a collection of phone conversations in various Levantine dialects. Even though I don't understand most of what is being said at this point, I am getting better at distinguishing between words and have picked up some phrases.
These links contain spoken Levantine videos and are also useful for listening.

Edit: I didn't notice the date of the original post. I'll leave the reply in case someone else finds the links useful.

GLOSS http://gloss.dliflc.edu/ has 55 lessons on Levantine. I find it an excellent resource for MSA and hope to
start dabbling in their Levantine, Gulf Arabic and Egyptian lessons soon.
