I add some links:

1. www.klartale.no //an easy weekly newspaper

2. www.stolaf.edu/depts/norwegian/grammar/grammar.html
//grammar from the Norwegian Teachers Association of North America

3. http://decentius.hit.uib.no/lexin.html?ui-lang=nbo&dict=nbo- maxi&checked-languages=N //an online dictionary, very good. My advice is to use it just in Norwegian

4. http://frodo.bruderhof.com/norskklassen/ //a virtual class for Norwegian learner

5. http://www.statvoks.no/konsept/norsk2/grammatikkinfo.html // norsk grammatikk explained in Norwegian, a kind of game

6. http://www.riksmalsforbundet.no/grammatikk/ //another grammar explained in Norwegian, very good and complete

Thank you for the links. I have bookmarked most of the pages.

I have been inspired to take up Norwegian in addition to Swedish because they are currently showing Sophie's World in Norwegian with English sub-titles on Australian multi-cultural television.

http://www.reisenett.no/eventyr/html/asbjornsen.htm //this is THE site for fairytales

http://www.runeberg.org //a HUGE collection of old Swedish texts (70%), plus Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic, Finnish. Mostly litterature. Very interesting

Of course, you can check out the online newspapers:

http://www.vg.no
http://www.dagbladet.no
http://www.aftenposten.no

may seem obvious, but it helps!

This is very useful. It's a list of the 10000 most common words in Norwegian newspapers and it's handy to use to try and figure out how large your vocabulary is:

Remove the space between . and html; however it's not so useful, there are words declined as jente jenter jentene etc; it would be more useful with the words and verbs in their basic form.

Aye, that's true, and a couple of names. But nothing a little bit of intuitive statistics couldn't fix..
