I love the internet. Thanks to Chung's recommendation I have found a great novel, Tombeaux sans croix (Graves Without Crosses) by Arved Viirlaid. It's about Estonian resistance to Soviet occupation after WW2. Originally translated into 7 languages, it's a little hard to find, but now I've got it for free :)

stories (Robinson Crusoe, 1001 nights, ...) as well as non-fictional books for kids e. g.
about history. Many books have vowelling and are written in an easy-to-understand way.
