I started learning french seriously 2 years ago, I've completed the Advanced Michel Thomas Method and all the French in Action videos. I'd say I'm intermediate level, between B1 and B2 Common European Framework of Reference for Languages(CEFR). I'm wondering what the next step to take in my french language learning. I found Pimsleur extremely boring and have never tried Assimil. One thing I really need to improve is vocabulary, any suggestions? Has anyone tried products by penton international or the 200 words a day series? Thanks in advance.

Assimil's always good but if you think your at B1 and B2 I'd say pick up a good book or
look at some articles and get to the reading. Don't bother with courses when you're at
an intermediate level, just start working with real material.

I disagree. You'll advance more quickly from intermediate to advanced if you use a good course. You should
however also read a lot and work with "real material" in addition to the course.

I second using Assimil. You will learn a lot of vocabulary through these courses. I would actually recommend that
you go through both of Assimil's French courses for English speakers: New French with Ease and Using French. You
will definitely get a lot out of both of them.
