Even if I reached a quite good level in German, I'm still having problems with "Verben mit Präfix". I spend really much time learning them, but with a little success. :( Is there a specific approach to master them? How did you learn them? Look at all words with that prefix at the same time and see the correlations.

This subject is also difficult for native speakers. They can use these verbs but cannot explain, or at least to give a hint to a non-nativ speaker. A few days ago I asked somebody: "Warum hast du aussieben benutzt, und nicht sieben?" After a while, I received the answer: "Weil aussieben schöner ist!" (He has Studies in Law) :)) 1 person has voted this message useful |
