This is a funny poem in Arabic using English vocabulary but with Arabic grammar and morphology.

Transcription & literal translation:

friendayya walka fi al-deserti silawlali (Oh my friends, walk in the desert slowly)

fa inni fi lovvin greatin musha'lili (I'm in a great burning love)

itha anta ma sacrafta fi al-lovvi 'ashiqan (If you sacrifice in love passionately)

remint Hazin al-heart fi every maHfali (Your heart remain sad everywhere)

tudarina lovvan in the hearti wa innama (She beguiles me with love but)

thourogh al-eyesi in your feci see it clearlali (I can see it clearly through the eyes in your face)

sa-aqdhi Hayati faithifolan li-lovviha (I will spend my life faithful to her love)

wa chanci smallun very littli al-taHammuli (though my chance is very small)

wa lovvi biggun very biggin believi me (and my love is great, very great, believe me)

udandinu lonely wa very jowayfuli (I'm humming with it joyfully)

aluvvuki lovvan fi al-blooddi masaruhu (I love you a love moving in the blood)

wa hearti my darling saree'u al-taranbuli (and my heart, my darling, is trembling fast)

fa homuki landanun wa homi damasun (Your home is London, and my home is Damascus)

wa betweenuna al-distancu very mutawwali (and the distance between us is very long)

Yaa Haashimi, this poem appeared to me as some kind of Maltese poem as I first read it.

Maltese, which originated from a North African Arabic dialect and diverged more due to
heavy borrowings from Italian and later English, does to Arabic what the writer of the
this poem did to Arabic. For example the word 'park' as in park a car, is transformed
into an Arabic verb parrkA, YUparrkU meaning he is parking the car, or for instance the
word 'chips' is used as 'chipsa' for singular/mufrad and 'chipsaat' for (jam3ul-mu-
annath-as-saalim) plural.

That's why I recommend Westerners who want to learn Arabic from scratch to try Maltese first, so the transition to Arabic will be easier.
