- I wonder if someone could recommend self evaluation forms that measure language ability, in relation to the common european framework? I think there are several varieties that exist.

- Second, does anyone have links to forms that measure learning styles?

The closest thing I can think of is placement tests (often used before enrolling in a course). For obvious practical reasons they limit their scope to grammar and vocabulary, so they are quite imperfect as a method of assessing one’s linguistic competences. Yet I believe there’s a strong correlation between grammar mastery and richness of vocabulary on the one hand and overall linguistic abilities on the other.

If you think this is what you’re looking for, I suggest you google ‘placement test’ and the name of the language you’re interested in.

For example, for some of the most important European languages (English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, and—as this site is Swedish—Swedish) you can find placement tests here:

http://www.folkuniversitetet.se/Har-finns-vi/Malmo/-Vara-kur ser/Sprak/Inplaceringstest-/

Explanations are in the tested language, whereas the results are in Swedish but they refer to the CEFR framework: basically they give the level A1, A2, … followed by the explanation in Swedish of the kind of abilities you are supposed to have at that level—the same information you can find on sites like this:

http://www.coe.int/T/DG4/Portfolio/?M=/main_pages/levels.htm l

I guess it should be quite easy to use these tests even if you don’t know a single word of Swedish (not your case, as I see you’re from Norway and therefore Swedish shouldn’t be much of a problem).
Hope this helps!

You're welcome!
The software of this forum often adds a blank space in the links. They should work fine if you copy and paste them making sure you take away the blank.
