I use the Living Language Arabic once per day in addition to my normal Arabic studies and I find that I am not progressing through it fast at all. I figured out that it is because I don't have the words in the conversations written in Arabic in front of me to remember, I have god awful transliterations that don't do anything for me. It takes me longer to remember a word and figure it's forms out completely from just hearing it and they don't do a good job of explaining the different words being used sometimes. I have had no issues at all working through my Al-kitaab and Teach Yourself courses, this is the only one bothering me. Any suggestons?

Take a look at this thread, someone else was complaining about a different aspect of the Living Language program. I've never seen the book or CD myself, but feel strongly that any Arabic teaching material written in transliteration is counterproductive and should not be used.
