Thanks for all the responses. I just realised that I could always
suspend a card. That way it won't show up and it's
still there if I ever want to use it again. I'm surprised that I didn't think of this
earlier and that no-one mentioned it
in this thread.
So I've decided to let the words be for now. I've only used Anki for a month or so
anyway, so maybe it's not a good
time to make such decisions. |

I think that's mostly a waste of time, unless you want to completely put aside a whole
language. You could make it easier by having different decks you can remove altogether,
but that just moves the trouble of deciding to remove a card to another place, like
deciding in which deck you should put the card, supposedly in accordance to the
'deletability' of the word.

Don't fret - the poster must be running an old version of the program, with an extra button in the lower end of the range. The "5" they are referring to is the longest interval, or "4" with the current Anki build.

Sorry I didn't mention it again, but I'm not using Anki. I know this thread is about
Anki, but sometimes it seems like it is the only SRS program out there, when it isn't.
In many respects all the SRS programs are similar, and some questions, like this one
about deleting, are rather general and applies more or less in the same way to all of
them. 5 is the 'too easy word' buttton in Mnemosyne.
