Urgent help needed - Mandarin Chinese | ||

Fellow language learners, I really, really need your help. I have a Mandarin test on Monday. I took my texbook and my notes and started cramming for the test (yes, it's sad but I have no choice. I NEVER start with grammar but that's exactly the way they teach it at school. It's cram or die) but being the idiot that I am I lost my notes and now I'm in a bind.
They give you these sentences and you have to fill in the blanks. Please help me. 1)今天晚上()会国，不()打工 a)会 b)想 c)可以 2)他为什么不来()?有事()? a)吗 b)吧 c)呢 Turn these into questions: 我去年暑假去的西安 --> My guess:你是什么时候去西安？ 她们从上海来的------>My guess她们是从哪儿来的？ 我打电话告诉的小刘------>My guess你是怎么高诉的小刘 Translation: JP:私はジャスミン茶を少し買って味わいたい 我想买点儿花茶尝尝 EN:I want to buy some jasmine tea and I want to enjoy its taste (or something like that) My guess:我想买点儿花茶尝尝 or maybe it's 我买点儿花茶想尝尝 And finally: EN:I want to read her novel My guess:我看过她写的小说 EM:I want to buy an inexpensive dictionary. I'm not sure if I exactly understand the instructions, but I am an intermediate Mandarin student, and I think I'm
able to do most of these pretty easily. 1。今天晚上回国，不会打工。 2。他为什么不来？有事吗？ ＊我去年暑假去的西安。》你是什么时候去的 西安？ ＊她们从上海来的。》她们是从哪儿来的？ ＊我打电话告诉的小刘。》你是怎么高诉的小 刘？ I'm not sure about the Japanese-related question. But then: ＊I want to read her novel. 》我想看看她的小说。 ＊I want to buy an inexpensive dictionary. 》我想买一本很便宜的词典。 Hope that helped. 1 person has voted this message useful | |||||||||

今天晚上（会）回国，不（想）打工。（"会" can be left out all right, but if you are asked to fill in something... The original sentence sounds weird in the first place. I am not sure exactly what the speaker wants to say. ） 他为什么不来（呢）？有事（吗）？
我想买点儿花茶尝尝。（an impeccable sentence） 我买点儿花茶尝尝。I bought some jasmine tea to have a taste of it. (In some context, eg. you are in a grocery with your friend or family, you start to walk over to the tea booth, you would say this sentence, meaning "I am going to buy some jasmine tea to have a taste of it." )
我想读她写的小说。 我想买一本不太贵的词典。 3 persons have voted this message useful |
