I'm using Assimil Dutch at the moment and am really enjoying it. I'm up to lesson 59 of the passive phase. Have looked briefly at Linguaphone. It seemed to be very comprehensive but also pretty dry. In one dialog (think it was lesson 1), every relationship between each family member was stated. "This is my wife, I am her husband. These are my children, I am their father. My son is my daughter's brother..." along those lines. (though I didn't look much further at it than that, so probably not the best person to comment on it.)

I'd also second (or third) Colloquial Dutch, by Bruce Donaldson. I've been using this as well as Routledge Intensive, along with the Assimil. Routledge Intensive has very modern texts which seem realistic and focuses a lot on communication (e.g. formal and informal language). I think these are both good to use alongside Assimil, if you want interesting dialogs.

Doesn't the passive stage end at lesson 49?

No the Passive Wave will continue until the end of the book - it's just at Lesson 50, you start doing the Active Wave as well.
