Hello. I've only just begun learning German and I'm trying to grasp the basics, like word worder, verb conjugation, articles and the like, so this question is quite simple. At the moment, since I have no formal materials to help me learn German grammar, I'm trying to become familiar with it on my own. I can't for the life of me, however, find out how to say "to want someone to do something", such as "I want him to see this." Could anybody help me by giving me an example of this construction in German?

"I want him to see this." = "Ich möchte, dass er das sieht."
("möchte" is the subjunctive ("Konjunktiv II") of "mögen")
For many more examples check out Linguee.

Yes, basically as doitsujin says, the best way to get around this translation is to use
'dass' to break up the sentence. Also i'd like to thank Doitsujin for linking that site,
it's just what i was looking for to clear a few misunderstandings up.
