I'm having trouble with these couple of words. I've seen them used many of times but
don't understand when to really use them because when I don't see the need to use them, they are used. doch, schon, mal (einmal), denn. 1 person has voted this message useful | |

Check out German modal particle. Denn is not listed, but like many of the other modal particles it's usually a filler that you can safely ignore and don't need to add to your active repertoire for the time being. For sentences with "denn" and their English equivalents click here
