This is my first topic in this forum.

On fictional works - comics, books, animes among others - some chracters have great language abilities:
Uncle Scrooge is a super polyglot, in the Carl Barks´ and Don Rosa´s stories I saw it sapeak: Arabic, Spanish, French, Swedish, Maya, Japanese, Finnish, German and many dialects of Chinese.
Dr. Gregory House speak fluently five languages beyond English: Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Japanese and Mandarin. It´s rare, few people speak Portuguese - and few Brazilian speak other languages...
According the Brazilian Wikipedia, James Bons speak English, French, German, Italian and Russian - he´s a enemy of KGB perfectly and can speak fluently Spanish, Greek, Mandarin and Japanese.
Raven of Young Titans speak eleven languages among them Sanskrit and Ancient Sumerian.
Do you know others fictional polyglots?

PS: Pardon me errors, I am still learning English

Dr. House just became even cooler. ;-)

If I remember correctly, Albus Dumbledore and Barty Crouch sr. from the Harry Potter books were both impressive polyglots, speaking over two hundred languages including Mermish, Gobbledegook and Bulgarian.

Old Shatterhand from the Karl May novels speaks German, French, English, Italian,
Spanish, Greek, Latin, Hebrew, Romanian, 6 dialects of Arabic, Persian, 2 dialects of
Kurdish, 2 dialects of Chinese, Malay, Khoekhoe, some Sundanese dialects, Swahili,
Hindustani, Turkish, Lakota, Apache, Comanche, Shoshone, Paiute, Kiowa, Quechua and 3
other South American languages, plus a bit of Lappish.

What makes the novels so interesting for a language geek is that they often contain words
or phrases in these languages.

I recall an awesome YouTube video clip posted here a while ago where young Indiana Jones has a polyglot-off with a pretty lady. many languages were spoken, including Swedish (yay!), albeit with a terrible accent.

James Bond speaks Japanese (according to the books that is - I don't remember a reference to it in films).... I realise one other language doent make him a 'proper' polyglot but I thought I'd let you in on it anyway.

Jason Bourne, at least in the movies, command a fair amount of languages. Russian,
Italian, Spanish, French, German and English are the languages I remember hearing him
speak, but according to wikipedia, he might speak Portugese as well.
