Has anyone bought any of the products from this site? My Myngle teacher recommended it. I had a look and it seems to offer a small range of audiobooks and even mini-movies that have been produced particularly for the language learner. Unfortunately, they are available for purchase as physical products only and the postage from Italy is a bit steep. I'd like to know if anyone has found them valuable before investing in them, or if there are other similar products available?

Hi kmart:

Alma Edizioni publishes some of the best Italian-learning materials out there in the market (actually, I think that Italian publishing companies as a whole produce some of the best language-learning materials in the world, which really prove that they understand what language education is about), hence, I personally would also recommend you too.

Personally, I am using their PLIDA C1 to prepare for the exam in May 2011, and I also love the book "Qua e là per l'Italia", which comes along with an audio CD. It contains a collection of interviews with Italians from different regions of the country, hence, you get the opportunity to take a peep at the various regional cultures in Italy, eg. from Trentino from the North to Calabria in the South.

I do not really know about your Italian level, however, the following are materials that I can never stop recommending enough:

1. "Viaggio nell'Italiano" (B2+/C1), Loescher Coedizioni

2. "Nuovo Progetto Italiano", Edizioni Edilingua

I hope it helps :)

ps: I hope that I do not sound as if I am hard-selling their products, but as someone who has invested quite alot of money and time on learning materials for various languages that I am learning, I find that I have become more particular in my expection of language books/audio CDs...

Thanks heaps noriyuki
I'm particularly looking for something to engage my friend and Italian practice buddy who has lost his "oomph" for studying. He's still keen to practice with me every week, but he's losing ground against me because of not studying in between. Hoping some of these materials might give his motivation a boost.
And hey, it can't hurt ME either !
