I'm trying to learn Welsh and I was wondering if anyone had some good recommendations for modern Welsh books
that would be easy enough for beginning reading practice. My university only has texts in Middle Welsh or older...

Also, if anyone knows a good place to buy Welsh books in the US, that would be lovely :)

Check out a Wales-based on-line bookstore like www.gwales.com to find the ISBNs, then you can check for the specific books in the US...

I've actually been on this site before and it had a lot of material, but I was wondering if perhaps I could get a
recommendation for specific books... something that you read at the beginning of your Welsh studies that you
found to be accessible. The question about availability in the US was really just a ghost of a hope that I could save
on shipping...

If this is too vague of a question I'm very sorry for bothering everyone... I just thought I'd see if anyone out there
had any burning recommendations as I can't find anyone around here who speaks/has studied Welsh.

The only Welsh book I actually own, which is part of my Potter-collection and which is internationally available, is "Harri Potter a Maen yr Athbronydd"

If you can understand this, buy this book:

"Broliai Mr a Mrs Dursley, rhif pedwar Privet Drive, eu bod nhw'n deulu cwbl normal, diolch yn fawr iawn ichi. Fyddai neb yn disgwyl iddyn nhw, o bawb, fod yn rhan o rywbeth rhyfedd neu anesboniadwy, oherwydd doedden nhw ddim yn credu yn y ffasiwn rwdl-mi-lol.

I can't understand a word, but I am studying Gaeilge (Irish).
