Here is an interview with one of the researchers of this study from the Dec 12th
program of the podcast "C'est la vie" on Radio-Canada. He also says that
speaking 3 or more languages is even better..

Hmm well my grandmother spoke about 5 languages (English, German, Spanish, French, Italian) and she had Alzheimers by age 60 which is pretty young. Maybe she was just an exception I guess.

Nothing can protect one entirely from such unfortunate illnesses, though a healthy life both for body and brain can
decrease the risk for Alzheimers to brake out. Some people are lucky, some just unlucky. But, if it can minimize the
risk of getting Alzheimers it’s a good reason to learn more languages :).
